Bully will release her new album ‘Lucky For You’ later this year.

The songwriter – real name Alicia Bognanno – went back into the studio last year, working alongside producer JT Daly to construct her vision. Retaining the anthemic bite she’s become known for, the sessions adding aspects of shoegaze, punk, and late 90s British guitar pop.

Out on June 2nd via the fine folks at Sub Pop, ‘Lucky For You’ is a weighty 10 tracker that packs a real punch. New single ‘Days Move Slow’ is out now, a peppy return that taps into those late 90s influences – especially the Cardigans, we reckon – while viewing these tropes from a new angle.

A blunt but incisive return, ‘Days Move Slow’ is pristine Bully – sparking pop, but also working with a seismic edge. In a note to fans, Bully says the song was written after the passing of her dog – and best friend – Mezzi.

She says…

As someone who has spent the majority of my life feeling agonisingly misunderstood, there is no greater gift than experiencing true unconditional love and acceptance. I waited my whole life for the bond and irreplaceable companionship I had with Mezzi. She was my best friend and my only constant through some of the most pivotal moments and phases of my life.

I was a stranger to the level of love I now know exists because of Mezzi. Love you forever; I’m lucky for you.

Tune in now.
