In a message to fans frontman Brendon Urie has confirmed Panic! At The Disco are “no more”.

The group emerged from the post-Millennial wave of American emo, finding huge international fame in the process. As the original line-up splintered the project began to find emphasis around Brendon Urie on a number of album projects.

While the sound progressed, hardcore fans yearned for those early records; Panic! At The Disco’s latest record ‘Viva Las Vengeance’ landed last year.

Now Brendon Urie has confirmed that Panic! At The Disco as a project is “no more”. In a note, the singer explains that he wanted to spend time with his family, and thanks fans for their support over the years.

“Well, it’s been a hell of a journey…,” he opens. “Growing up in Vegas I could’ve never imagined where this life would take me. So many places all over the world, and all the friends we’ve made along the way.

“But sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin. We’ve been trying to keep it to ourselves, though some of you may have heard.. Sarah and I are expecting a baby very soon! The prospect of being a father and getting to watch my wife become a mother is both humbling and exciting. I look forward to this next adventure.”

And now, the crux of the issue: “That said, I am going to bring this chapter of my life to an end and put my focus and energy on my family, and with that Panic! At The Disco will be no more.”

He ends: “I love you. I appreciate you. Thank you for existing. Brendon”
