Billy nomates has asked the BBC to remove her Glastonbury set due to continued trolling.

The Bristol based artist released an excellent album earlier this year, and took her material to Worthy Farm this weekend

Performing solo, augmented by backing tracks and triggered samples, her music left a deep impression on those lucky enough to be present. Sadly, the set’s inclusion on the BBC broadcast has left Billy nomates exposed to trolling.

In a note on IG stories, the Bristol artist revealed that she has asked the broadcaster to take her set down, while she also vowed to have a break from live shows.

Numerous musicians leaped to her defence, including Primal Scream bass player Simone Marie hit out at the trolls, commenting: “the fact that billy nomates has asked 6 music to take down glasto footage of her due to all the trolling + nasty comments is so fkkn upsetting. WTF is wrong with people . Why is anyone who does music such an easy target ? shall we all come to your work and rip into you ? vile.”

Dan le sac added: “Y’all should stop being dickheads about Billy Nomates. Tor is great, she’s been consistently great for years and she can perform however she likes.”

“For someone who stands alone on stage, she creates an insane amount of energy. Love her for that. Get over yourselves.”

6Music broadcaster Mary Anne Hobbs said: “100 per cent love for Billy Nomates.”
