Bristol-based artist Ben Hutcheson is gearing up towards his debut album with latest offering ‘Need You Tonight’.

The ballad sways between rejection and conclusion, allowing its gentle piano notes to leave room for the riser’s warm yet impactful tones. The emerging singer-songwriter is connecting the dots between country rock, folk and the more contemporary inclinations of pop, cultivating a sound that spans across the likes of Scouting for Girls, Toploader and Billy Ocean.

‘Need You Tonight’ unveils itself as a slow-burner, paying close attention to its instrumentation and structure. Building momentum with big drums and the stripped-back acoustics of his guitar, Hutcheson pieces together a track that feels universal and is freed by its vulnerability.

Anticipated to drop early next year, Hutcheson uses the single as an introduction to a full length project which aims to flesh out the intricacies of relationships and romance.

Drawing in first-time listeners and embracing early followers, ‘Need You Tonight’ sees an artist opening doors for themselves into a broader music landscape.

Hucheson adds: “Need You Tonight is my song that blossomed into more than I ever felt it could have, capturing more raw emotion in it than I ever thought possible”.

Tune in now.
