Jakob Bjørn-Hansen, otherwise known as Bearson, has shared his brand new single ‘No Getting Over U’.

The track marks the Nordic singer-songwriter’s first release as an independent artist, hinting towards a new, yet familiar direction.

Layering pitched-up vocals over a glitzy, saccharine production, Bearson pieces together a bitter-sweet bop that spills over heartbreak and longing. In line with rise of hyper-pop and club-adjacent tempos in pop music, there’s a distinct, fresh aesthetic to the track.

Setting pace with 2018’s ‘It’s Not This’ and later collaborating with the likes of Jimi Somewhere, Anna Of The North and Jerry Folk, Bearson’s latest release ushers in a new era. Readily equipped with an upcoming project which is yet to be announced, ‘No Getting Over U’ offers a glimpse into the pop auetur’s next steps.

Speaking on the track, Bearson details: “This release holds a special place in my heart as it marks my return to the indie scene following my time with a major label. I’ve been away for a couple of years producing for great artists, and during this time I’ve worked up loads of solo music. I’ve been less scared to push some boundaries and delved into the nostalgic realm of early modern dance music. This song is the very first glimpse into what I’ve been working on. The dance floor is your sanctuary.”

Tune in now.
