The Jamaican-Canadian DJ and producer signs with Because Music…
24 · 07 · 2024
JUNO award-winning artist BAMBII has shared new single, ‘Spit’, her first release since signing with Because Music.
The multi-hyphenated talent continues to up the production ante, and raunch factor, on ‘Spit’, a deconstructed dancehall nocturne that pulls from diasporic influences both sides of the Atlantic.
On ‘Spit’, BAMBII affirms her Caribbean roots, roping in regular collaborators BEAM and Lady Lykez, and building on the cross-genre flair she teased on last year’s ‘Infinity Club‘ EP. Earlier this year, BAMBII shared palette cleanser ‘SHH‘ and collaborated with Ragz Originale on his single, ‘ice‘. BAMBII helped shape Kelela’s sophomore record ‘Raven’ as one of the core producers, and later reinvented fan favorite cut ‘Closure‘, which was on the singer’s remix collection, ‘RAVE:N, The Remixes’.
Following a run of Summer festival dates including a set at Sónar Festival in Barcelona, BAMBII will be performing at the Brooklyn Mirage next month alongside South African DJ Uncle Waffles, Andrew Power and more.
A forthcoming project is due later this year. In the meantime, watch the ‘Spit’ visualiser below.
