audiobooks Detail New EP ‘Gulliver’

audiobooks will release new EP ‘Gulliver’ on April 12th.

The duo – David Wrench and Evangeline Ling – are a singular force in British music, with second album ‘Astro Tough’ landing in 2021. Set to go on tour this summer, the pair have also lined up a blast of brand new material.

Out on April 12th, ‘Gulliver’ is a deeply imaginative four-tracker, led by new single ‘Burnt Pictures’. Very much a line in the sand, it’s dubbed “unlike anything we’ve written before…”

audiobooks comment: “When we toured for ‘Astro Tough’ we took along the brilliant Oneda to open for some of the shows. We were playing ‘Burnt Pictures’ as part of the set to try and explore different structures, and we invited up Oneda to freestyle with us, and it was exactly what the track was missing.”

David adds: “Inspiration for the track came from 60’s Czech New Wave Cinema classic ‘Daises’ which I put on silently on a screen in the studio while Evangeline improvised lyrics to it.”

The full video for ‘Burnt Pictures’ is online now, shot on Ogwen Beach in Wales over a cold winter weekend. Directed by David’s eldest son Louis, it also features his youngest child Auberon.

In addition to this, Evangeline is also set to host her first solo exhibition at a.SQUIRE gallery in Shoreditch. She paints all the audiobooks artwork – including the design for the incoming EP – and the exhibition opens on February 25th.
