“We wanted our collaboration to impact people and transmit that female power,” Peluso tells Rolling Stone

Plug in the MP3 — the plane’s about to take off. On Thursday, Emilia released the music video for “Jet_Set.mp3” featuring fellow Argentinian star Nathy Peluso as the two stars dance with knives and pose in office buildings.

“Collaborating with Nathy Peluso was a dream come true. It’s an important collaboration because Nathy represents the new generation of strong female artists who are pushing boundaries,” Emilia tells Rolling Stone. “We felt powerful, beautiful, and confident in this video, which is the message that I wanted to send with it. The song is an anthem for embracing one’s bold and unapologetic self.”

The Ballve-directed video sees the two stars dancing from behind a criminal enterprise headquarters in a sort of Matrix-style venue. The end of the video shows bloopers including a cheeky clip of Emilia’s pants splitting during one dance scene.

Peluso says working with Emilia was an “experience filled with love” as she lauded the pop singer’s “artistic versatility” and how she’s a “complete artist.”

“Both the musical and visual processes were filled with attitude and we felt in tune with each other from the start,” Peluso says. “We wanted our collaboration to impact people and transmit that female power. Making music with people I love and admire is what I enjoy the most.”

The song is the final addition to Emilia’s highly successful LP, .mp3, which she dropped late last year and featured “La_Original.mp3,” her collab with pop star Tini.

“I decided to release this one later because I felt it was a track that needed its own moment. I wanted to set the tone for a strong 2024, where we can all be supernovas,” Emilia says. “Fans had been asking for this feature for the longest time and now it’s a gift for them.”

Emilia ended 2023 with a bang. She sold out Buenos Aires’ Movistar Arena — which fits 15,000 — for ten nights in less than 10 hours, breaking ticket sale records in the country. “I’m shaking because of the excitement,” Emilia said in December. “Thank you for gifting me the opportunity to make a show from my heart for you. Thank you for choosing me.”

This marks Peluso’s first musical release since September’s “Ella Tiene” featuring Tiago PZK and “Salvaje” over the summer. Her last album arrived in 2020 with Calambre. Emilia dropped her LP .mp3, featuring “Jagger.mp3” and “No_Se_Ve.mp3” with Ludmilla in early November.
