Apple Music Launches Hip-Hop DNA Series

Apple Music has launched new in-depth series Hip-Hop DNA.

Hip-hop toasts its 50th birthday this year, marking 50 years since the first block parties emerged. A culture, a way of life, and a selection of sounds, hip-hop remains one of the world’s primary cultural drivers.

In a new series Apple Music goes deep on the past, present, and future of hip-hop, with host Ebro Darden guiding listeners through 20 chapters.

Moving from the origins of hip-hop in New York to its current global status, Hip-Hop DNA looks to be the essential word on the sound’s anniversary.

The first five episodes are online now, with Apple Music also curating a mix from DJ Clark Kent, focusing on seminal hip-hop cuts, and songs they sampled.
