Angel Olsen will release new EP ‘Forever Means’ on April 14th.

The songwriter’s extraordinary album ‘Big Time’ landed last year, a work that explored grief, coming out, and the long road to self-love. Backed by some exultant live shows, it proved to be a real high point in a catalogue laden with golden moments.

New EP ‘Forever Means’ is a kind of extra chapter to this tale, and it lands on April 14th via Jagjaguwar. Produced by Jonathan Wilson it features songs crafted around the same time as the parent album, while the EP itself has its own character.

Angel Olsen explains…

“Forever is to remain curious, never letting yourself think you’re finished learning or exploring, while trying also to be kind and honest”.

New song ‘Nothing’s Free’ is a gorgeous introduction, driven forwards by Angel’s insistent vocal. While it definitely parallels the work on ‘Big Time’ it also has a flavour of its own, something its creator admits.

“It felt really difficult to exclude it from ‘Big Time’”, she says in a press note, “but it felt more soulful than the direction of that record, it was coming from a different place. For me, when I wrote it, I was coming to terms with my identity and sexuality. I was opening up in a new way”.

Tune in now.
