Kwasi’s ‘LIT!’ Is A Bold Moment of Experimentation

Kwasi has shared his brand new single, ‘LIT!’

A grungey piece of cross-genre experimentation, the Ghanaian-Australian artist is picking up the energy with his latest release. Merging together chopped-up bass samples with distorted drums and a punchy vocal delivery, the riser weaves between personal references, braggadocio and empowerment. Largely drawing influence from skateboarding culture and his upbringing, the track carries a collaborative spirit, seeing Kwasi merge forces with skilled producer, Tasker, who transforms the track’s instrumentation with slick live bass, synths and guitar.

Growing up in the Australian countryside, Kwasi has developed a unique relationship with his creative process, finding solace and belonging within his craft. Speaking on his work, the artist shares “For me, music was a way to form an understanding of the world and a way for me to connect with others.” In turn, ‘LIT!’ connects with a global audience and the live experience, reaching into a sense of angst, rebellion and self-identity.

Speaking on the track, Kwasi expands further: “‘LIT!’ is a burst of energy, the soundtrack for the rise of the anti-hero.” He continues, “It’s a track that embodies the feeling of being on the edge, ready to make your mark, despite the odds. It’s an introduction to who I am and where I’m headed.”
