30 · 08 · 2024
Jackson Scott has dropped his highly anticipated third album, ‘Everything Is Ephemeral’.
Across thirteen tracks, the Pittsburgh-based artist reflects on the influence of 60s acoustics, tapping into a psychedelic shoegaze sound. With flecks of gritty rock and an addictive dream-pop songwriting style, spotlight tracks like ‘Medication’ build into a swirling, experimental listen, proving some of the artist’s most ambitious work to date. Speaking on the track, Scott illustrates his messaging as “Trying to hold onto the fleeting nature of a good hedonistic experience, knowing that it ultimately will end eventually.”
Spending the last decade immersed in local DIY scenes, Jackson Scott has continued to venture into the unexpected. Debut album ‘Melbourne’ catapulted the vocalist to critical acclaim, solidifying his relationship with independent record label, ‘Fat Possum’. Since then, the artist has developed a nostalgic yet fresh sound, drawing inspiration from defining acts such as Massive Attack, Oasis, and My Bloody Valentine.
Stepping into a new phase of his journey with his latest record, Jackson Scott strengthens his creative style, flair and execution once more.
Tune in now.
