Fousheé returns with new single ‘war’.
The songwriter’s excellent debut ‘softCORE’ matched soulful R&B aspects to a punk-like defiance of the rules, and she broadens her palette for the follow-up. Out on September 13th via RCA Records, ‘Pointy Heights’ is a deeply autobiographical document, displaying her aesthetic breadth in the process.
The album title refers to a patch of land her grandfather bought in Jamaica, and there’s a Caribbean flavour to new single ‘war’.
The delicious calypso melodies paint a relaxing picture, with the lyric seeking out tranquility – the opening line is “bad girls don’t fuss – they’d rather be living a life of harmony…”
