New single ‘Ode To Clio’ is really intriguing…

Man/Woman/Chainsaw will release their debut EP ‘Eazy Peazy’ on November 8th.
The five-piece have been causing a buzz in London, merging caustic noise with some soothing aspects of melody. Difficult to define, they sit adjacent to movements in the Brixton Windmill but feel as though they exist in their own world.
Working with Gilla Band’s Daniel Fox at Echo Zoo studio in Eastbourne, Man/Woman/Chainsaw have managed to get their zig-zag sound on tape.
Signing to Fat Possum, new EP ‘Eazy Peazy’ is out this Autumn. Released on November 8th, it finds the five-piece – Billy Ward (vocals, guitars), Emmie-Mae Avery (vocals, keys/synths), Vera Leppänen (vocals, bass), Clio Starwood (violin), and Lola Cherry (drums) – moving between genre lines with real daring.
As the band’s Billy Ward comments: “we thrive on the thin line between pretty and noisy, often trying to jump between the two – it’s that chaos that excites us.”
New single ‘Ode To Clio’ is out now, a cellular song that seems to smash together all kinds of contradictory ideas into one riveting whole.
“It took us a year to write and it’s a nonsensical collage of people and relationships we’ve encountered throughout that time – moving from serene to tumultuous, all held together by Clio’s overarching violin melody,” the band explains. “We think it’s the centerpiece of the EP, it encapsulates the range of the sound palette we work with.”
Tune in now.
