Just when you thought all the Indiana Jones merch dried up after Dial of Destiny, we found a clue to guide it right back. Disney just released a prop replica of the Grail Tablet from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, which is both awesome and confusing. “Awesome” for obvious reasons and “confusing” because Disney’s first prop replicas for Indy were released almost exactly two years ago, about a full year before the release of the fifth film.

That initial wave had items like the Holy Grail itself from Last Crusade, the Fertility Idol from Raiders of the Lost Ark, a Sankara Stone from Temple of Doom, and the Crystal Skull from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. And, two years ago, that made sense. Now, releasing a new piece of the line makes much less sense, but we don’t really care. This is a very nice piece and, at $170, a solid price point when similar items from other retailers have been much more expensive. Here are some images.

The piece, which measures about 20 inches wide and high, is made out of resin with a plastic stand. So you can display it on the stand or, in other photos, you’ll see it comes with a clip to hang it on the wall. We love a versatile collectible.

As cool as this piece is—and it’s very cool—we were honestly just more excited to see more Indy stuff being released. There’s still so much potential for merchandising with the franchise but, kind of understandably, it dried up after Dial of Destiny’s tepid reception. Nevertheless, fans who don’t have another version of this will be very tempted to choose wisely and order. Here’s the link.
