The Blessed Madonna continues her winning streak on new single ‘Count On My Love’.
The producer and broadcaster recently surged into the Top 20 with her song ‘Happier’, built alongside Clementine Douglas. With a summer of club engagements and high-profile festival slots incoming, The Blessed Madonna swoops once more on this new release.
Club-adjacent pop music, new single ‘Count On My Love’ takes her sound in vivid directions. Built with a cast of close friends, the single utilises a whistled melody from Daniel Wilson, alongside input from Boston club figure KON (Defected, Fools Gold).
“The whistling is just Daniel Wilson on a hot demo mic”, explains The Blessed Madonna. “He whistles in session to practice or find melodies and it just fit so well.”
The emotive piano section was sculpted by DJ, producer and Berklee College Of Music Professor, Yuki Kanesaka. The producer adds:
“The piano interlude was Yuki being asked to play it like Bruce Hornsby, which is amazing. At the end of the session with KON and Yuki, I literally took all the magnificent jazz and funk playing, ran it through two distortion units and added a 909 on top, and I was like ‘I swear this is gonna to be a good one’.”
Tune in now.
