Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia will finally meet in the boxing ring on April 20th.
‘The Dream’ and ‘KingRy’ have a lengthy history together, dating back to the amateurs. Before the two were professionals, they met six times. Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney walked away from that series with three victories apiece, but it seems that they’ll get to break the tie in April.
Both men competed in December, scoring high-profile wins inside the boxing ring. Early in the month, Ryan Garcia scored a knockout victory over Oscar Duarte, his first bout since losing to Gervonta Davis that spring. Later in December, Devin Haney scored a lopsided decision win over Regis Prograis on DAZN pay-per-view.
Following those bouts, the two men began to call for a fight against one another. While it first appeared that Ryan Garcia would box Rolando Romero, ‘Rolly’ instead signed a deal to fight Isaac Cruz on March 30th. As a result, ‘KingRy’ re-engaged in talks with Devin Haney and Matchroom Boxing.
Talks between the two seemingly went well, and they’ve now struck a deal. As first reported by Mike Coppinger of ESPN Ringside, Devin Haney vs. Ryan Garcia is a done deal for April 20th in Las Vegas. As of now, the venue for the fight this spring hasn’t been announced.

Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia to meet in April 20th boxing match in Las Vegas
“April 20th GarciaVsHaney – Game 7 this one is for everything… it counts now Devin.” Ryan Garcia’s social media post confirming the bout read earlier today. “This fight for me means everything. This is what I meant when I spoke on PBD podcast “Im coming back for everything in Blood”
He continued, “I ask you guys to pray for Devin and his health. Pray his dad stops this fight. He will be needed to be carried out if this fight doesn’t get stopped at the appropriate time. The details are going to come soon with ticket info. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ. His name is above all. Forever and for eternity Amen.”
The bout is a turning point for both of the young boxers. For Ryan Garcia, the fight will be the first real title shot of his career. While ‘KingRy’ is a former WBC interim lightweight champion, he never wound up facing Devin Haney to unify the titles back in 2021. Garcia famously knocked out Luke Campbell to win the title that January.
Meanwhile, Devin Haney will look to continue his climb in the boxing world. ‘The Dream’ is a former unified lightweight champion, but his win over Regis Prograis in December was his first bout up at super lightweight. Already considered one of the best boxers on the planet, the bout with Ryan Garcia will be the most high-profile of his career.
