With Season 2 of Invincible beginning on November 3, now is a great time to catch up on the comic book series that the animated show is adapted from. A superhero saga with a modern spin, Invincible follows Mark Grayson as he embarks on a career of costumed crime-fighting, but it’s not long before he gets caught up in devastating family secrets, global threats, and galactic confrontations in his alter-ego of Invincible.

Volume 1 and 2 are part of Amazon’s buy one, get one 50% off book sale.
Developed by Robert Kirkman (co-creator of The Walking Dead), Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, Invincible is a coming-of-age story that can be light-hearted in one moment and then hit you with some extreme graphic violence on the next page. It’s no wonder then that one of the main characters from the book is a perfect fit in the world of Mortal Kombat.
The collected works make for a terrific read and are available in a wide variety of formats. If you want to go all in on Invincible, you can grab the three compendiums that are available. These are massive tomes of Invincible comics, and each one is well over 1,000 pages in size. Together, the three collect the entire 144-issue saga, and they are currently available for nice discounts at Amazon.
For something a little more prestigious that won’t count as a gym session whenever you lift them, there is the Invincible Ultimate Collection. These are smaller collected editions that are between 300-350 pages in size each, and they have a much nicer paper quality and hardcover binding. There are 12 of these in total, and they make for a very handsome collection overall.
The other option to consider if you just want a brief taste of Invincible are the single trade paperbacks. These are 140-150 pages in size on average, collect a single story arc in a convenient printed package, and also have a deluxe feel to each page. This is the more expensive option overall, as there are 25 of these trade paperbacks to collect in total, but they stack up quite nicely on a shelf.
Below, you’ll find links to the whole series in all three formats. Keep in mind that Amazon’s book prices fluctuate frequently, so the prices listed below are only accurate as of October 19.
You can stream the first season of Invincible exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
