An excellent return from the much-loved band…

The first iteration of Be Your Own Pet hardly screamed longevity. Born from an overbearing hype, the Nashville four-piece partied as hard as they played, leaving a trail of smitten fans and garage rock anthems in their wake. Now, 15 years since their last release, the group are back; older, arguably wiser, but as hard hitting as ever.
The band’s frazzled and serrated blues is well suited to their new home on Jack White’s Third Man Records, and the chunky riff of ‘Pleasure Seekers’ sets the bar for a new beginning. ‘Mommy’ is not an evolution for Be Your Own Pet, it is an affirmation that despite the passing of time, we can still be just as vital as our former selves.
