Tycho Shares New Single ‘Time To Run’

Tycho has shared her new single ‘Time To Run’.

The producer is opening a fresh chapter, and his new single is a key part of this. Out now on Ninja Tune, it has a full band approach, broadening Tycho’s creativity while remaining true to his core values.

Welcoming Kaelin Ellis on drums and Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor on mixing duties, ‘Time To Run’ allows Tycho space to evolve. He comments: “My goal was to approach the composition from a new angle and let the rhythmic elements take the lead. I cast the melodic elements that have come to define the Tycho sound in a new light by juxtaposing them against a new foundation that takes cues from funk music.”

Out now, ‘Time To Run’ utilises a guitar riff from Zac Brown, and it contains a zesty directness, a refreshing energy just right for summer.

“’Time To Run’ is exactly what I imagined process-wise,” Zac Brown comments. “Scott took the initial guitar idea, which was a prettier and subdued vibe, sped it up and gave the guitars a sample based treatment, which along with adding a staccato synth bass made the track super funky and bouncy.”

The song also gains from a video directed by Patrick Elmore, and it taps into Tycho’s experience as a competitive runner. He comments: “This story is about letting go of the expectations of others and finding your own peace and fulfillment.”
