Jayda G Shares Effervescent ‘Meant To Be’

Jayda G has shared new single ‘Meant To Be’.

The effervescent new song appears on her upcoming album ‘Guy’, which is due to land on June 9th via Ninja Tune. Co-produced alongside Jack Peñate, it’s her broadest work yet, moving from choppy disco aspects through lush house and pop aspects.

New song ‘Meant To Be’ has a reflective edge, with the bittersweet nature of Jayda G’s vocal matched against those clipped guitar chords. You can hear aspects of Chic in the arrangement, the glinting light of the production adding some studio shimmer to her enriching songwriting.

Out now, ‘Meant To Be’ comes as Jayda G fronts the new Blue Carbon documentary film, a climate crisis artefact that also features Brazilian artist Seu Jorge and original music from Wu-Tang’s RZA.

Finally, Jayda G is set to hold down an incredible Boiler Room set tomorrow – May 17th – at 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST via Apple Music (in Spatial Audio).
