The Minister of Public Works and Transports (MPWT) on behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) yesterday signed an agreement with the top official of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank (WB), which would allow the latter to conduct a feasibility study on the development of logistics sector in Sihanoukville.
Minister of MPWT Sun Chanthol signed the Financial Advisory Services Agreement (FASA) with Asad Yqub, IFC Resident Representative for Cambodia to commission IFC at the ministry to undertake the feasibility study on Sihanoukville Logistics Complex (SHV-LC) project, which is scheduled to start in May in the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) form.
Addressing the opening session of the FASA signing ceremony attended by senior officials, Chanthol said SHV-LC is expected to boost flow of goods and services at the main economic corridors of Sihanoukville, reduce transportation and logistics costs, enhance competitiveness and provide diversified transportation and logistics services to the private sector.
