Khruangbin have confirmed plans for a five-strong series of live LPs.

The Texas group have taken their instrumental sound to the world, melding together outre-funk influences with aspects of reggae, soul, North African music, and more. Completing a full UK tour, Clash caught Khruangbin at London’s Alexandra Palace, before the band went on to headline Cross The Tracks.

Live, Khruangin like to stretch out, and this new quintet of concert LPs illustrates their improvisatory prowess. ‘Khruangbin and Friends – Live At Stubbs’ is the first of the series to land, and it will be released on May 19th through Dead Oceans.

Following this, ‘Khruangbin & Nubya Garcia – Live at Radio City Music Hall’ hits on June 30th, with ‘Khruangbin & Men I Trust – Live at RBC Echo Beach’ due to be released on August 11th.

‘Khruangbin & Toro y Moi – Live at the Fillmore Miami’ is out on September 22nd, with the final release in the series to follow.

Discussing the move, Khruangbin commented:

“We toured the world for over 18 months, when global restrictions just started to slowly lift through the long anticipated end of regulations. From our vantage point, to watch people come together through song and dance after a time of unified isolation was truly a spiritual experience. To watch and hear audiences sing along to the songs we released during the pandemic and to feel so loved and well received was unquantifiable.”

“We wanted to find a way to hallmark this journey and decided to do so through a series of live releases that also commemorate the artists who performed with us, as well as the artwork and photography from those shows. It was and is truly a time to remember.”
