Billie Bottle’s Temple of Shibboleth have shared their latest single ‘In The Temple’.
Since making their return to the scene, the band have continuously set out to blur the boundaries between progressive rock, jazz, folk music and pop. ‘In The Temple’ is no different, a nostalgic introduction to Billie Bottle’s self-titled debut album. The track is an ethereal, bright listen that weaves between elastic synth pads, sonorous woodwinds and dynamic harmonies. Handing over its production duties to George Shilling, a renowned force who’s worked alongside the likes of Blur and Primal Scream, ‘In The Temple’ celebrates the group at their most sophisticated and mature.
Made up of Viv Goodwin-Darke, Roz Harding, Anna Batson, Emma Holbrook and frontwoman Billie Bottle, the band have worked their way from the ground up. Spending much of her youth busking on the streets of her hometown, Billie would later earn her stripes amongst Canterbury’s live music circuit. Later forming the band’s predecessor Billie Bottle & The Multiple, the 5-piece female outfit have gone on to grace stages alongside Richard Sinclair, the founding member of cult band Caravan.
This year’s debut anticipates a new chapter for the band, drawing inspiration from mythology and ancient tradition. Billie Bottle’s Temple of Shibboleth are undoubtedly taking their next steps with ‘In The Temple’.
Tune in now.
