The uproarious energy masks a lyric of introspection…

Claire Rosinkranz has shared new single ‘Sad In Hawaii’.

The SoCal riser has paved out a unique lane, with her emphatic EP ‘6 Of A Billion’ being followed by a string of excellent singles.

New track ‘Sad In Hawaii’ has an old school flavour, with her 90s pop tendencies coming to the fore. Amid this uproarious energy, though, Claire crafts a lyric that cuts deeper, contrasting her idyllic island setting with feelings of inadequacy, and loss of self-worth.

The bassline lopes round and round, building to her emphatic chant: “Probably still rocking my Nikes, but I’ll still be sad in Hawaii.”

Discussing the song’s gestation, Claire adds…

“This song is about how everything around you can look so picture perfect, but it’s not as flawless as it seems when you’re not doing well on the inside. I was in Hawaii when I had an uncomfortable situation happen to me that took a toll on my mental health and made it hard for me to enjoy where I was. Impressive how your brain can ruin an experience that should be paradise.”

Tune in now.
