Disneyland Paris To Celebrate 30th Anniversary With Marvel Drone Show
These drones will not, presumably, be controlled with a pair of Tony Stark’s glasses.
Marvel is a huge part of Disney not just in the United States, but the whole world over. Case in point is Disneyland Paris’ 30th-anniversary celebration. To finish out the festivities, the park will debut a new Marvel drone show, Avengers: Power the Night.
The show will run from January 28, 2023 through May 8, 2023 and will “combine music, lights, pyrotechnic effects, and video projections onto the Tower of Terror,” with 500 drones forming a series of lighting sequences themed to the powers of some of Marvel’s biggest heroes. Disney calls out Captain America, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, and Shang-Chi specifically in its press release for the show. Backing the show will be a series of newly re-orchestrated scores from Marvel movies.
It isn’t an all-Marvel show, though. Along with the Avengers: Power the Night show, parkgoers will also be able to see the return of the Disney Dreams nighttime show and a new one called Pixar: We Belong Together.
The Disney Dreams show is a drone show as well, and will feature projections of “some of the greatest Disney stories” on the Sleeping Beauty Castle, with songs from Disney films like Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King. Pixar: We Belong Together, meanwhile, is a stage show that combines technology, lighting, and music to bring Pixar characters and stories to life.
It’s worth noting that the last time Disney had a Marvel drone show, it took place in Spider-Man: Far From Home and was controlled by the villain Mysterio and threatened to destroy London. This one will just light up the nighttime sky over Disneyland Paris.
