Brake problems can usually be tracked to just a few common problems but when you’re brakes fade or feel spongy it usually means that it’s time to rebuild your master cylinder. Each master cylinder has a piston used to push the fluid and apply pressure to your brakes. Sometimes the seals on the piston will crack or tear making it so air can enter the system. This can contribute to brake fade and a squishy lever. This video demonstrates how to properly rebuild your master cylinder. After you do that you need to bleed the system and remove all the air from the system and for this you can refer to our brake bleeding video.
