Avril Lavigne and Yungblud have shared new single ‘I’m A Mess’.
The two began teasing a potential collaboration on socials a few days ago, sending fans into a tizzy. As Yungblud put it: “the song we’re about to drop is full on lookin out the window of your parents car pretendin you’re in a music video vibes…”
For her part, seemingly Avril Lavigne let Yungblud chop off her hair – truly, remarkable scenes…
The single gradually came into view: titled ‘I’m A Mess’ it was written by Avril Lavigne and Yungblud, joined by pop-punk legend Travis Barker and John Feldmann.
Produced by Feldmann and Barker, the single is out now, and it’s a swaggering piece of pop-edged rock music. A song about two outcasts falling for one another, the lyrics find hope in companionship against the prying eyes of the world.

P Tracy directs the video, which moves between London and Los Angeles. The cover art – find it up – mirrors an infamous Sid ‘n’ Nancy image, too.
The single comes as Yungblud basks in the afterglow of his No. 1 album – self-titled, natch – while Avril Lavigne’s seventh studio album ‘Love Sux’ was a global hit.
